Day 6, King's Canyon and Nevada City, CA

We woke up to a wonderful bright morning and the sound of the river rushing nearby. Our campsite was so beautiful with big trees and so many families from around the world just being together in this wonderful place.

We all took a few minutes to cool our feet in the cold snow melt river and get refreshed before heading out to King's Canyon and then to our friend's plce near Nevada City, CA

So cool that this fallen tree has been here for over 100 years and that you could walk through it from end to end.

Let's just say that the giant sequoias (taxodiacea sequoiadendron giganteum) are simply humongous.

It was pretty interetsing to see the amount of agriculutre happening in the river valley below the Sierra Nevadas. So much water has to be redirected to keep all of the crops fresh and growing. Seems like a huge use of resouces not to mention the amount of chemical pollution that must deplete both the land and water surrounding these out of place lush fields. Although, it was also sort of cool to see all of the dfferent crops growing.

coming soon
